English Bulldogs stand between 14-15" tall and with proper diet and exercise should weigh between 40 to 50 pounds to meet AKC breed standards. Bulldogs have an average life expectancy of 8 to 10 years with proper care.
English Bulldogs are kind but courageous, friendly but dignified. They are notoriously wonderful family pets and make excellent companions, with proper training.
Known for their stubbornness, training requires time and consistency from the moment you bring your puppy home. Good dogs are not just bred by us, they are made by you! Please visit the training section of our page for more information and links to the AKC's recommended trainers.
Bulldogs are prone to overheating and because of this it should be noted that they are not meant to be an "outside dog." This is to be seriously considered before choosing a bulldog if your lifestyle is unable to meet this crucial part of their needs. Bulldogs are also prone to becoming overweight without proper diet and exercise.
Bulldogs require quite a bit of grooming maintenance. Their wrinkles, ears, and tail pockets (if present) need to be cleaned regularly to avoid inflammation, yeast or other infections. This is not a "low-maintenance" breed and we encourage you to research proper bulldog hygiene.
We love bulldogs, (seriously, big fans!) however, they have very specific needs that must be met in order to thrive and be the amazing companions we know them to be. It is our responsibility to ensure that our puppies and adoptable adults are going to homes that understand these commitments and plan to give them the forever family they deserve!
